WELCOME TO ASSS 2022

The Second International Symposium on Advanced Security on Software and Systems (ASSS 2022)

In Conjunction with IEEE EuroS&P 2022, Genoa, Italy, 6-10 June 2022

We are closely monitoring current COVID-19 situation, and will update the information for attendance and presentations in a regular basis.

Call For Papers:

With the development of new software technologies and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), software and system development becomes more complicated and requires for more advanced skill set. Such complexity may result in unwanted or unconscious bugs during the development phase, which can be utilized by cyber-attackers. As software is a crucial part of existing infrastructures, e.g., smart grid systems, how to secure the software and system security is a big challenge.

This symposium aims to provide a platform for professionals from academia and industry to share advanced techniques, experiences and lessons learned for securing software and systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Code Obfuscation
- Anti-Debugging and Anti-Simulation
- Evaluation Methodologies
- Blockchain-based Methods
- Intrusion Detection / Firewall
- Malware Analysis
- Software Vulnerability
- Software Attack and Defenses
- Static and Dynamic Program Analysis
- Hardware-based Attacks and Defenses
- Formal Methods
- AI-based Security Techniques
- Adversarial learning
- Security testing
- Application security

Important Dates:

- Paper submission deadline: 13 March, 2022 (Final Extended)
- Paper notification: 4 April, 2022 (Extended)
- Camera-ready version deadline: 8 April, 2022
- Workshop date: 6 June, 2022

Submission Guidelines:

Submitted papers must not substantially overlap papers that have been published or that are simultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference with proceedings. All submissions should be appropriately anonymized, or will be rejected automatically. The submission should avoid obvious self-references and should be appropriately blinded.

Papers must be typeset in LaTeX in A4 format (not "US Letter") using the IEEE conference proceeding template we supply eurosp-2022-template.zip. We recommend using LaTeX, and suggest you first compile the supplied LaTeX source as is, checking that you obtain the same PDF as the one supplied. Then, write your paper into the LaTeX template, replacing the boilerplate text. Please do not use other IEEE templates. Submissions must be in Portable Document Format (.pdf). Authors should pay special attention to unusual fonts, images, and figures that might create problems for reviewers. Your document should render correctly in Adobe Reader XI and when printed in black and white. Failure to adhere to the page limit and formatting requirements can be grounds for rejection.

Papers should be at most 10 pages for a long paper including the bibliography and well-marked appendices, or 6 pages for a short paper including the bibliography and well-marked appendices. All submissions must be written in English.

Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their papers will be registered and presented at the symposium.

The qualified papers will be invited to submit an extended version to several special issues.
